What’s going on?

In 2007-08 we witnessed one of the worst crashes of the banking system since the Great Depression of the 1930s. The answer to this failure of the system? Absolutely nothing. Seven years later and we’re still in dire straits. Inequality hasn’t been so high since that very same Great Depression of the 1930s, the bank executives are throwing bonus’s at themselves like never before, yet the government actively fight against any regulation intended to curtail their reckless destruction of our economy. We’re the 5th richest nation in the world, one of the pioneers of science, technology and industry, yet hundreds of thousands are using food banks. What is going on? This is what I want to address in my blogs:

  • Why are corporate needs more important than human needs?
  • Why are corporations not paying their fair share in taxes?
  • Why are we dominated by a right wing press, and why are they scared of a more equal society?
  • Why are people so fixated on the poor and their benefits, when blatant corporate tax evasion is the real drain on our tax system?
  • When did capitalist greed take precedent over the destruction of our planet, be it mass extinction, runaway CO2 emissions or the vast deforestation of our worlds rainforests in an endless need for more farmland/grazing land?
  • Why do we put up with vast worldwide poverty, despite being quite capable of ending it?
  • What are the real reasons behind the ever increasing threats of extremism? Is bombing more Muslims really going to solve it?
  • Is Jeremy Corbyn really a Britain hating commie bastard? Or is that pure insanity perpetuated by a propaganda promoting right wing press backed by conservative interests?

This is only the start, I want to discuss any and every issue that seeks to cause division, perpetuate greed, dismiss the poor as scum, label foreigners as benefit scrounging fraudsters or promote war and death across the world over the fake umbrella of ‘security’.

Any comments to suggest subjects or issues that may be important to people I would like to bring into this blog, so please comment and let me know. Thank you.
